The purpose of the Gill-Tech Scholarship Program is to provide graduating high school seniors with tuition assistance to continue their education at Gill-Tech Academy of Hair Design. This school year, Gill-Tech will award up to 3 - $500.00 scholarships per high school. The guidance office or scholarship committee of each individual high school chooses the award winner or winners. We ask that when the decision has been made, Gill-Tech Academy is notified prior to May, 1st 2012. The date of the awards presentation should also be included at that time. Scholarship winner applications received in our admissions office by May 1st will be sent a scholarship certificate in time for the awards ceremony, and/or a Gill-Tech representative will also be available to present the award. Scholarship awards are good for our June 2012 through May 2013 class starts. Students graduating at the January semester may also be considered for this years' scholarship.
Student Qualifications
1. Applicants must be graduating from high school in the current academic year.
2. Applicants must have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.5.
3. Applicants must have a strong desire to enter the cosmetology profession.
4. Applicants must have good attendance.
5. Applicants must demonstrate creative ability.
6. Applicants must demonstrate good communications skills.
Application Process
A student applies by completing the scholarship application and presents it to the high school counselor or principal. The school completes the rank in class section of the application and chooses a recipient for the award year. The counselor/principal then sends the application, transcript of grades, and letter of recommendation for the chosen recipient to Gill-Tech Academy, attention Mika.
